An easy, secure install is guaranteed by use of an interior, full metal stabilizing cage usually found in commercial locking devices. Thru-the-bore bolting from the interior side of the lock into the cage aligns the tubular latch with the exterior mounted plates (see ‘simple assembly' tab at left). Any trim-shift or loosening is eliminated with use of this technique. Exterior side of lock has no screw heads showing in most cases. Levers and knobs are secured to the plates using a positive clip. Therefore, no set screws are used anywhere in the Continental line that can loosen over time. Results: a visually appealing lock with robust performance characteristics. Only heavy duty latches with floating faceplate for positive alignment of trim, spindle, and latch hub are used in the Continental line.
